The game is mainly centered around an "Old Western" themed carnival. In Carnival Games: Wild West, players get in on the action of 25 western-themed games and attractions. Also, some of the mini games use the gyroscope functionality of the Nintendo 3DS. The game also uses the some of the features of the Nintendo 3DS. The StreetPass feature to trade gold coins, and the Augmented Reality feature via Nintendo 3DS Camera to view and take pictures of various objects and characters in 3D.
